The ADP2121 is the industry's first buck regulator to pack 500 mA of output current in a component area of less than 5 mm2 making it an ideal power solution for space-constrained handset devices. The 6 MHz fixed-frequency operation enables ultrasmall ceramic capacitors and multilayer inductors. The device has a peak efficiency of 90% and a no load quiescent current of 30 μA to extend battery life. The extended input range of 2.3 V to 5.5 V makes it compatible with next generation Li+ batteries. Despite its small size and high efficiency, the ADP2121's transient performance is uncompromised—providing excellent stability over a range of load and line conditions.
