Participation in Industry Associations
WPG actively participated in industrial associations, and provided instant communication service platform through various activities to assist the sharing of knowledge resources to members, and to increase members’ external strategic alliances and potential alliances. The company aims to enhance the industrial network position and height of Taiwan's distributors, actively supports the development of supply chain management, and fulfills corporate social responsibility.
- Taipei Electronic Components Suppliers' Association (TECSA) lecture hall
Taipei Electronic Components Suppliers' Association (TECSA) has set up the “Distributors’ Lecture Hall” to promote in-service education and enhance talent training in the electronic components distribution industry, as well as pass on knowledge and experiences of the supply chain and distribution industry. The association invited members and supervisors of TECSA, senior managers of WPG, industry experts, well-known entrepreneurs, and scholars to lectures and held training lessions for employees of member companies and industry practitioners. There was a total of 426 participants in 2020.
- STP Seed Talent Program "WPG New Employee T.I.P.E. Core Value Video"
The 15th STP Seed Talent Program, hosted by WPG’s Human Resource Service, is different from the World Café Leaders Forum in the past, where students and companies communicate with each other. Instead, the actual company project of the students’ team enables students to learn soft and hard powers in the workplace in advance under the guidance of corporate mentors and STP's diversified and innovative training courses, closing the gap between industry and academia, and cultivate outstanding students to become management associates (MAs). 12 companies participated in the WPG New Employee T.I.P.E. Core Value Video program in 2020, while the company recruited a total of 8 students for creative ideas and video shooting. In addition, the Human Resources Service arranged corporate mentors to jointly complete the video "Let's T.I.P.E. Newcomer Competition" with students.
- WPG scholarship awards in the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, National Taipei University of Technology
Since 2011, the WPG Scholarship has been set up in the Taipei Tech College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science to provide financial assistance to the disadvantaged students to prevent students dropping out of school due to financial difficulties or sudden changes and be able to graduate with the help of social care. Five scholarship applications were provided each semester in 2020. To encourage students in developing professional skills, the company formulated scholarship application rules in the first semester of 2020, including learning plan as selection criteria, in the hope to help students learn and develop in additional to economic relief.
- NCCU College of Commerce Supply Chain Management Plan
Since 2010, WPG Holdings sponsored and supported three-year period "Supply Chain Management Plan" of NCCU College of Commerce for the 10th consecutive year. Combining theory and practice in industry-academia collaboration to systemize the knowledge of Taiwan's supply chain management while setting up a complete set of supply chain management teaching materials to cultivate supply chain management professionals in the industry.
In 2020, in order to encourage students to study supply chain management and provide opportunities for students to accumulate work experience, the supply chain management plan set up the WPG Scholarship and internship opportunities for students to implement industry-academia collaboration.
Social Care and Involvement
WPG Holdings established “WPG Holdings Education Foundation” with the vision of fulfilling social responsibility through core competence, aiming to enhance knowledge economy, construct high quality educational environment, promote academic and practices research over business management, and care for arts, culture, and environment education. At the same time, we focus on social participation to “Regain the Spirit of Technical and Vocational Education" and strive for high-quality educational environment through industry-academia collaboration and relevant education groups in the hope of cultivating young students and enhancing international competitiveness.
In 2020, WPG Holdings donated a total of $16,743,141 to National Chengchi University, National Taipei University of Technology, and House of Dreams Foundation.
WPG Holdings cooperates with various organizations including foundations, social enterprises and social welfare organizations in response to activities including arts and cultural education, social welfare and environmental protection, in order to assist in promoting relevant concepts and actions in all aspects to create a better society.
