Thundercomm Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Thundercomm) is a provider of IoT products, technologies and one-stop services for OEM/ODMs, innovative enterprises and developers in the IoT Area.
Thundercomm, was jointly established by Thunder Software Co., Ltd. and Qualcomm® Technologies, Inc. in 2016. With the basis of Qualcomm's world-leading SoC technology as well as ThunderSoft's powerful operating system technology and local service capability, Thundercomm is devoted to IoT products such as smart cameras, robots, VR/AR devices, wearable devices, drones, medical equipment and industrial IoT to help partners and customers accelerate the process of IoT products from the prototype to the mass production.
In 2016, Thundercomm launched the Thundercomm TurboX™ Smart Brain Platform which is based on the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ processor. The Thundercomm TurboX™ Smart Brain Platform provides one-stop solutions including System on Module (SOM), operating systems, algorithms and SDKs, and is equipped with development Kits and BBS community services. With two years of meticulous development and promotion, the Thundercomm TurboX™ Smart Brain Platform has been applied in Baidu Smart Speaker, ANT VR, HiScene VR, VeeR, Zerotech DOBBY Drone, Hover Camera Drone and other successful products, helping these products achieved significant innovative features that go beyond imagination.
In 2017, Thundercomm released the Thundercomm TurboX™VR DK1, a new generation of VR All-In-One reference platform based on the Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 835 Platform, at MWC Asia. The platform reduced the system latency to less than 18ms by synergistic actions and integrated many algorithms including 6DOF, gesture recognition, and eye tracking. Thundercomm TurboX™VR DK1 provided a powerful productization platform for OEM/ODM, algorithm suppliers, content developers and other ecological partners and leading the global VR products to iterate to the Snapdragon™ 835 Platform swiftly.
In 2017, Chongqing Economic and Technological Development Zone Management Committee, ThunderSoft and Qualcomm (China) Holdings Co., Ltd. signed an MOU to establish the “Chongqing Economic and Technological Development Zone • Qualcomm® Intelligent Internet of Things United Innovation Center” (hereinafter referred to as United Innovation Center) in order to jointly support and promote the innovation of Chongqing enterprises in the IoT field. The United Innovation Center will comprise of an innovation laboratory and an exhibition center, of which the innovation laboratory, equipped with advanced testing instruments and with IoT as the main direction, will provide technical assessment, initial R & D guidance and experimental testing for qualified innovative and entrepreneurial enterprises, so as to promote their development in the IoT-related field.
In addition, by leveraging ThunderSoft's rich experience in the operating system field and Qualcomm's leading position in the SoC field, Thundercomm is constantly expanding its layout of Artificial Intelligent. Since 2018, Thundercomm has joined the Qualcomm® AI engine ecosystem as a provider of embedded intelligent visual solutions, providing one-stop AI solutions from SoC, driver/BSP, Operating System, AI Algorithms to applications for OEM/ODMs, innovative enterprises and developers with the basis of the Qualcomm® AI Engine Platform as the basis, and enhancing intelligent terminals' capabilities of local, real-time environment perception, human-computer interaction and decision control.
Since its founding, by providing intelligent products, technologies, and one-stop services, Thundercomm has reduced development thresholds, shortened the time to market, and helped hundreds of customers develop their own competitive and differentiated IoT products and brought them to market. Through Thundercomm's continuous devotion to IoT, along with customers and partners, Thundercomm goal is to the backbone of the integrative development of “Internet Plus” strategies.
